B Hotel @ Alabang: Introductory Rates

For those looking for an alternative accommodation somewhere in Alabang area, good news!  Bellevue Hotel, a five-star hotel in Alabang just opened another hotel that is more affordable.  Presenting... B Hotel.  B Hotel is  three-star hotel that is managed by the same group as Bellevue so you can be assured of better customer service experience than those of the other 3-star hotels.  Located at Madrigal Business Park in Alabang, I'm assuming it will cater to business clients but the thing is, a lot of my friends who are getting married in Alabang have only a few choices for wedding preparations (Bellevue Hotel and Vivere Suites).  Now B Hotel,  they can have a decent accommodation at a friendly rate.

Oh and as an newly opened hotel, B Hotel Alabang is having a special introductory room rate.  Starting today until June 30, you can book an overnight stay at one of their standard rooms for only Php2869++. This rate includes a buffet breakfast for two, complimentary shuttle service in commercial spots in Alabang, complimentary use of pool and gym facilities in Bellevue Manila's main wing plus a gift from B Hotel.

Do call B Hotel for more details at (632) 7718181.

Ace Water Spa: Luau Party Heat 4

Previously I blogged about ACE Water Spa, Luau party Heat 3 and due to its success, they're having another one this May.

For those who are still not familiar with ACE Water Spa, its a spa in Del Monte Avenue, Quezon City that offers hydro-therapeutic massages. Here, you have to lie down below a shower setup where pressurized water will massage your body, instead of the usual therapists/masseurs.

Their promo is the same as their previous offer but is applicable from May 14 until May 15 only from 7pm onwards. Ticket is tagged at Php795 per person but if you buy 3 tickets, you can get another one free. Spa tickets includes entrance and access to all facilities, 4-course meal, drinks, goodie bag and a souvenir promo. What I like about their facilities is the hot herbal pools where I usually spend most of my spa time. Make sure to bring your swimwear (preferably of spandex materials) as they're a bit strict with the dress code.

You can contact them for more info at (632) 4075833, (632) 482-7040, (632)332-6452.

Urban Escape Spa @ QC: Anniversary Promo

I'm a self-professed spa-addict for 10 years now. I made sure I get my dose of massage at least two times a week.  But during my wedding preps, I was so busy that I've skipped my "just-me" time in exchange for supplier meet-ups.  I know, it's sad.  But all that is behind me and now I'm back to indulge.  That and the fact that I've getting a lot of requests for spa/massages promo.

What I could recommend to all of you out there is one of my within-budget spa venue,  Urban Escape Day Spa at Timog Ave., QC.  It's located at the 2nd floor of a modest building, ESNA.  It could easily be missed; so make sure to spot the old Sir William Hotel and its just in front of it.

As for the rates, they have their usual off-peak promo from 12pm until 4pm where you can get massages (they offer swedish, shiatsu, combination, and full-body reflex) in their common area for Php370 an hour.  Their usual rates is Php450 per hour which I think is lower than the other spa; as it already includes access to their jacuzzi and steam bath.  Their common area is acceptable which can occupy at 10 persons at a time (or so). It's dimly lit and the bathrooms/shower area are satisfactory. Masseurs are decent and observe silence most of the time.  (Just tell your attendant if you feel its noisy, and she'll hushed those concern; or at least that's what mine did.) Let me say that there's only two instance when I fell asleep during a massage session.  One is when I was having my zodiac ritual  in a private spa room in Putrajaya Malaysia, and the other one is when I had my swedish massage in Urban Escape's common room.  But to those who still prefer a private room, you can also avail of it for an additional Php250.

For the whole month of May, they also have an anniversary promo.  Bring a friend (you have to be two or more) and you'll get a 15% off.  So if you drop by after their off-peak, a massage would only cost you Php382.50.  Oh, by the way, their off-peak hours are applicable for the whole week even on weekends and holidays unlike others. Hope this appease those who are looking for a spa promo out there :)

Subway: Buy 1 Take 1 For Voters

I went yesterday to vote. As soon as I entered my old grade school building, I knew its going to be a loooong day.

How in the world can students who went to this dilapidated institution learn something! The heat was intense; there were more than 60 adults inside a room that can occupy at most 50 grade school kids with one teaching adult. There were four ceiling fans but only one is actually working. Of course, the rest of the voters had no choice but to loiter in the corridors ignoring the "Silence/No Loitering" signs of the school. It was horrible! There were long queues, people shouting and sweaty, smelly bodies, and more shouting. The old guy who was in front of me, I thought he's going to hyperventilate as he screamed "Sabi nila computerized! Dapat mabilis. Ano 'to? HA!" ("They say its supposed to be computerized. It should be fast! What's this") . Gosh, I thought the guy's going to have a heart attack.

But I came to my precinct knowing it could be like this. After all, its the first computerized implementation. People all came as early as 7am but went home around 9am. I came there around 9am, I found my room assignment and name in less than five minutes but went home around 1pm. Why?  Although there was no lunch break for the teachers... only 1 PCOS machine is attending to six precincts, with more than a thousand (or two thousand) voters per precinct. In a room, there were only 10 marking pens. Do the math!

And after all those fuss, I came home with a not so happy nail polish results. Hahaha.

The good stuff starts now. All those who voted, make sure you drop by Subway. Flash your"purpled" index finger proudly and you can avail of the Buy 1 Take 1 sandwich until May 12. Free sandwich choices are limited to BLT, Ham or Veggie Delight, though. Still, a promo's a promo :)
