It's Earth day today but do you know that this week, there's a Lyrids Meteor Shower too? Talk about appreciating not only Earth but the whole universe we live in, and the wonders of them all.
According to one onsite site, this phenomenon happens every April, every year as Earth passes through the dusty tail of Comet Thatcher, thus resulting to an annual meteor shower activity called Lyrids Meteor Shower. Forecasters expect 10 to 20 meteors per hour visible from dark-sky sites.
Now if you really want to go all out, you can drop by Seven Suites Observatory in Antipolo City on April 22 and 23, the peak dates for meteor activity. Entrance fee costs Php150 per guest with lectures and sky orientation plus a hot chocolate and cookies while watching.
This is a romantic opportunity, needless to say. Call Seven Suites Hotel at (02) 217-5443, 4906407, 682-0330, 682-2076 for more details.
